WHAT WE ARE LEARNING....
MATHEMATICS: Students will be studying lessons 10-12 this week in their EUREKA program. Major topics include rounding, estimation, and place value operations. Students will continue to work on Dreambox to support their learning. LANGUAGE ARTS: Unit 2, week 1. Students will be learning from Wonders primarily. The essential question for this week is "How do animals teach us things?" Spelling words this week focus on the prefixes of "un-" and "il-" such as unlock, illegal, unload, etc. Students are expected to practice their grammar and language skills daily on Lexia Core 5 for 30 minutes each day from 10:45 a.m. until 11:15 each day to support language arts reading and comprehension skills. LITERATURE STUDIES: Literature studies of "Grandpa's Great escape, will resume on Friday. SCIENCE: We primarily use Mystery science which aligns to the New Utah Science with Engineering Education Standards (also known as SEED). Having finished rock science, students will now study LIFE SCIENCE. Our first lesson this week will focus on the "Human Machine" OCTOBER 28th! STUDY HALL DAYS ARE WEDNESDAYS! Wednesdays are set aside for Miss Winslow to meet (online) with students individually and tutor them on concepts they need help on. To schedule a time for your student to be tutored, send Miss Winslow a message through Dojo. On Wednesdays, all students have individual work to complete! On Wednesday, October 28th students will complete the following: # 1 - Log onto their student portfolio and make sure their homework is complete. # 2 - Lexia Core 5 - 30 minutes # 3- Dreambox - 30 minutes #4 - Code.org - 30 minutes # 5 - READ CHAPTER 4, Grandpa's great escape. # 6 - Creative time 30 minutes of art, dance, music or fun. #7 - P.E. time - students need 30 minutes of active play time. #8 - Moby Max- Students will go to Clever and log onto Moby max to complete 10 minutes on the SCIENCE Module, 10 minutes on FACT FLUENCY, 10 minutes on the MATH module. -end of schedule-
